Had a gorgeous drive yesterday from Braemar along the very swollen river Dee to Balmoral. We had a quick walk around the outside of the estate and even visited John Brown‘s grave before heading on for one last cuppa and cake with Ross in Ballater. No wonder the Queen spends so much time in this part of the world; it is truly beautiful (even in the pouring rain).
After saying goodbye to Ross, I then took the Highland tourist route all the way up to Inverness. Unbelievably beautiful drive...... I can highly recommend.
