Goodbye Lake District

After a fun few days in the Lake District, I decided to challenge myself (and Frida) to the Hardknott pass. With steep turns and a 33% gradient, Hardknott shares the title of Englands steepest road! Poor Frida. I think I underestimated how hard it could be. I had to keep her in first gear most of the way up and down. And yes, I did stall. Luckily for me I'm very good at hill starts! After raising my blood pressure to alarmingly close to the heart attack range, I decided to head into Ambleside for a leisurely waterfall walk and post traumatic cream tea. Thank goodness for Scones! And this one was very good.......
